#2. COVID n Curiosity: 11 thoughts to 11 goals!

As I have mentioned in my earlier post “Journey Begins”, I will tell a bit about myself and my goals in this post. While I type, I sense discomfort in my throat. Before you imagine it as a symptom of COVID, I would like to introduce my job profile. I work as a high-end salesperson in a reputed firm; it involves talking for several hours over the phone in a day, sometimes I have to speak for 2 continuous hours. So, the discomfort could be due to my job nature.

With a sneak-peak into my work life, let me give you a small background about myself. I grew up in a small town where I had completed my schoolings. My inclination towards academics helped me to get into premier institutions of my country. Yes, I have mentioned “premier institutions” as I have secured a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. Having graduated from the top colleges in the country, I did not have any trouble getting a good job.

However, the question is, do I wish to continue in the career path of my current job? The answer is “partially yes” and “partially no”.

On one hand, my current job offers adequate money to support my family; on the other hand, it suppresses my curiosity as it is limited to a particular domain. Gradually, I took the call to spark my curiosity in April 2020, during COVID beginning. I listed down the activities which I would like to try. To my surprise, I had many things on my bucket list; and, those things involve long term investment of time, energy, and money. One of the activities which I would like to try is blogging. With the help of blogging, I have planned to connect all my other interests and track their progress.

Usually, we keep thinking about many ideas, but hardly we take the next step to progress the idea. Then, sometime in the future, we would blame ourselves for not progressing the idea. Taking the next step is the biggest challenge in the world as it involves discipline and a positive mindset.

Even if we take the next step, we have an inherent question, “Would this little step make a big difference?”. Now, for a person with multiple ideas, “Would taking a small step in every idea make sense to make a big difference in every idea?”.

If you don’t have a definite answer, I am on your side. However, I plan to find answers as I have many such ideas; and, I want to accomplish them. In the “Flows Through” website, I will make an earnest attempt to track the progress of my goals and share the learnings with you. The idea is to utilise the time efficiently for jobs and goals. Whenever I get time, I will do activities that will progress my goals to the next step, and I will write a post to share the progress. As time progresses, we will get to know whether I reach the desired output in the goals I conceived. Over the past year, I had given deep thought to my ideas and structured them into simple sentences.

Following are those sentences/goals in no order of preference:

  1. Run a successful website.
  2. Make sustainable gains in the stock market.
  3. Earn a PhD.
  4. Become a Professor.
  5. Write a popular book.
  6. Travel the world and live at least 10 days in a country.
  7. Achieve financial freedom.
  8. Own agricultural land.
  9. Run a successful YouTube Channel.
  10. Develop knowledge of History.
  11. Maintain health and fitness.

Thanks for reading the full article. I believe you have got an idea about my goals. As a next step, I will record my progress towards each goal in their respective threads. Till then, see you!
